Minister ensures that ‘State did not spend even one euro “with the bank
The Portuguese Business Bank is already on sale. The revelation is the Minister of Finance said Thursday that the committee of inquiry to the case that the administration of BPN bank already has orders for the sale.
“The Board is implementing this path to raise the market offers, ’said the minister, who reiterated the view that’ this is the best option.
In May, in an interview with Reuters, the Finance Minister had disclosed that among the various possible solutions to the BPN is that which is preferred by the sale of the bank.
Questioned by the CDS-PP on how much money was spent on the bench, Teixeira dos Santos said that the state did not spend even one euro in BPN.
The Minister explained to Mr Nuno Melo that the state does not injected money in the bank, explaining that the Caixa Geral de Depósitos has operations for liquidity, the bank is limited, stressed the minister, asking for money to the European Central Bank, whose lending operations have been used 2.5 billion.
After explaining the funding with the ECB, whose money is used in operations, liquidity, Teixeira dos Santos also took the opportunity to mock with the questions of the CDS-PP: “You know the banking business is about and ask to borrow others’.
